A mother of three sons made headlines after she cancelled Christmas for her kids.

Lisa Henderson from Utah, the United States, said on her blog: “They (the kids) expect so much even when their behavior is extremely disrespectful.”

Henderson and her husband have decided to cancel all the presents, Santa and stockings for this year, but did it wisely.

With the money that would have been spent on buying gifts for the three “naughty” boys, the parents are buying clothes and presents for children who are less fortunate, including those Typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines, news reports said.

The mom said their sons were first upset by the idea but quickly learned to “embrace the joy of giving,” according to the reports.

A visitor to Henderson’s blog praised the idea by saying, “Sweetest story ever! I love it! Brought tears to my eyes.”
